Rich in Antioxidants

Truffles are packed with natural antioxidant compounds, including phenolics and flavonoids. That is the same family of protective compounds that earned berries, green tea and dark chocolate their superfood reputations.

Antioxidants help neutralise free radicals, the unstable molecules produced as our bodies process food and respond to the environment. Laboratory studies of truffle extracts, including our variety Tuber borchii, have repeatedly measured meaningful antioxidant activity. It is why researchers now talk about truffles as a functional food, not just a luxury one.
